Czar plums are naturally excellent for making jams and preserves; by using a little less sugar, you can create a really intense jam. Czar is fully self-fertile and crops reliably, aided by its comparatively hardy nature, in the face of frost.
As with all trees from the prunus family, the leaves will start to appear autumnal and slightly shabby with holes, from mid-June onwards. This is not a disease, it is just a growth cycle with this type of tree.
