Growing to 8m but easily pruned to fit a smaller space, Kanzan is suitable for most average sized gardens and has a naturally vase-shaped form

Native to Japan, Kanzan was first bred in the Edo period (1603-1867) and named for the legendary Chinese poet and sage Hanshan (Kanzan-ji in Japanese)
